In perhaps the speediest divorce settlement yet, Tom Cruise, 50, and Katie Holmes, 33, have settled their differences after just 10 days. No doubt, in an effort to remove the few blemishes that have already marred their public image. Cruise bared the brunt of the blame because his Scientology beliefs were said to be the main cause for the split.

"The case has been settled and the agreement has been signed. We are thrilled for Katie and her family and are excited to watch as she embarks on the next chapter of her life." Remarked Jonathan Wolfe, Holmes' attorney.

"This result could not have been achieved without the hard work of my partner Gary Skoloff and our co-counsel Allan Mayefsky, Michael Mosberg and Larry Trachtenberg of Aronson Mayefsky and Sloan and Peter Walzer and Chris Melcher of Walzer & Melcher in California."

"We thank Tom's counsel for their professionalism and diligence that helped bring about this speedy resolution."

Cruise and Holmes released a joint statement and are determined to make this transitional period as easy as possible for daughter, Suri, 6.

"We are committed to working together as parents to accomplishing what is in our daughter Suri's best interests, We want to keep matters affecting our family private and express our respect for each other's commitment to each of our respective beliefs and support each other's roles as parents."

No word yet whether Holmes has acquired full custody of her daughter. But according to their sources, the two were working on an outcome in which Suri would remain with her mother, and Cruise would be given ample visitation rights.

We're glad the former couple have handled their divorce with such grace.
