By now, we are all aware Karl Lagerfeld is not a fan of Pippa Middleton. In early August, the fashion luminary announced that he preferred her backside to her face. You can strike ageism as one of the possible reasons he dislikes the fashionable Brit because he apparently adores her 57-year-old mother, Carole.

"I think Carole is very sexy," Lagerfeld told Gracia UK. "I think the mother is sexier than the daughters. There is something full of life about her. For a woman who must be 50 or so I think she's great. Full of energy."

"I don't like the sister's face."  The 78-year-old Chanel director told The Sun about Pippa. " She should only show her back."

Perhaps regretting the harsh statement, Lagerfeld recently attempted to dull its edges, telling Gracia magazine,"I didn't mean that! I only meant I don't think her makeup is right. She has a roundish face and round eyes and she should pick another makeup for the eyes."

One thing that hasn't changed, he still fancies Duchess Kate."I love Kate Middleton!" he gushed. "She can try anything. For makeup, she has no limits!"

He also thinks "Kate Middleton has a nice silhouette and she is the right girl for that boy [William] . . . I like that kind of woman. I like romantic beauties."

Lagerfeld is known for dispensing unsolicited advice. Last year, he said British singer Adele was "a little too fat" but praised her voice for good measure, adding, "but she has a beautiful face and a divine voice."

He later apologized for the crass comment. "I'd like to say to Adele that I am your biggest admirer," he said. "Sometimes when you take a sentence out of the article it changes the meaning of the thought."
