Despite Elena transitioning into a vampire this season, her and the Mystic Falls gang will be moving on as if they were normal teens.
According to Wetpaint.com, Matt, Caroline and Elena will return to school for their senior year, but they won't be the only one roaming the halls. Rebekah, who happens to be responsible for Elena's new eternal life, will be heading back to school as well. The original vampire won't be a welcome sight within Mystic Falls high school though, especially after forcing Matt and Elena off the road during the season three finale. Wetpaint reports that seeing Rebekah in the hallways will bring out some rage in Elena, but the new vampire will "learn the hard way" not to mess with the original vampire.
It doesn't look like Rebekah minds losing Elena, Matt and Caroline's friendship, because she'll be busy befriending new girl in town April...but for some odd reason no one wants to talk to the newbie.
Besides Rebekah's new friendship, Damon is expanding his own circle of friends by working closely with Klaus and Dr. Meredith Fell. Klaus and Dr. Fell aren't Damon's new drinking buddies or a replacement for Alaric, instead the trio are teaming up to question the dangerous new vampire hunter Connor. Connor isn't working alone though. The vampire hunter turns to Jeremy for not only a hunting buddy...but because Jeremy happens to know a lot of secrets about the supernatural happenings in town. According to Wetpaint, when the five people come head to head things will get deadly.
Meanwhile Tyler gets a surprise visit when Hayley comes to town. So, who exactly is new girl Hayley? The werewolf behind helping Tyler break his sire-bond with Klaus!
Episode three, "The Rager" is set to air on Thursday, Oct. 25.
Season four of "The Vampire Diaries" premieres on Thursday, Oct. 11 at 8 p.m. on the CW.
