Lindsey Lohan is set to star in a new movie from the creators of "Hardcore" and "American Psycho" with porn star James Deen. Very little is known about the movie at this point other than the fact that it was written by Bret Easton Ellis, directed by Paul Schrader and produced by Braxton Pope.

In the trailer for Lindsay Lohan's new movie, "The Canyons," the actress is shown only in black and white, surrounded by images that are distinctly Los Angeles. The 1950s-style trailer describes Bret Easton Ellis as a "Twitter-obsessed author" and described the director of the film, Paul Schrader, as a "never-nominated director. The quality of the trailer is distinctly bad, which leads many to believe that it was done on purpose.

From the opening credits, where the Fox 20th Century logo has been reformatted to read "Post Empire Kickstarter," to the end of the trailer when the narrator alludes to the idea of the movie being released as an Internet-only film, it appears that this project is rebelling against all the norms of Hollywood. The tongue-and-cheek nature of the trailer suggests that Bret Easton Ellis and Paul Schrader already know what fans reactions will be to the movie, and that they're in on the joke.

The dialogue presented is short, punchy and reveals very little about the storyline. The narrator of the new trailer does suggest that Lindsay Lohan's character, Tara, is a "sensuous women torn between two loves."

"The Canyons" currently has no release date, and it's unclear whether it will ever make it to cinemas. The new 1950s trailer lightly alludes the fact that the film may be released over the internet rather than through traditional routes. "Coming soon to an internet server of your choice," says the narrator as the trailer ends.

The first trailer of "The Canyons" was described by Slate as a 1970s-style Grindhouse trailer. This latest trailer is distinctly 1950s-style. Many believe that the next iteration will be some version of a 1960s style trailer.

Producer of the film Braxton Pope has already praised Lindsay Lohan's performance in her role as Tara. "What's kind of lost in a lot of the Lindsay discussions is the fact that Lindsay is a very talented actress," Braxton told MTV News. "She's very charismatic and she has a lot of acting skills. So her lifestyle and some of the things that she's gone through have tended to kind of overwhelm the fact, but Lindsay has kind of real talent. So for this part, we felt that she was really the right actor for a host of different reasons."

Bret Easton Ellis, who frequently voices his opinion on Twitter, said that Lohan was absent during much of the audio dubbing for the movie. Although he was aggravated with her behavior, it appears that "The Canyons" is still scheduled to be released... someday.
