Katherine Heigl has been accused of ruining her career by being a diva according to The Hollywood Reporter.

The site published an article on Thursday that reflected upon Heigl's trajectory from rising star, A list movie star to struggling actress. The actress rose to fame in 2005 in a starring role on Grey's Anatomy. In 2007, she enjoyed her first taste of box office success in the comedy Knocked Up.  She ultimately left the ABC drama to pursue a career as a full time movie star..

However, her last few offerings have been box office failures. Sources cited Heigl's attitude such as publicly lashing out at her employers. She trashed Knocked Up as "sexist" and blasted Grey's Anatomy for not giving her material worthy enough of an Emmy.  The constant presence of her momager Nancy was also another reason why her fortunes have reversed.

"I have never experienced anything like Nancy Heigl," a source said. "It's about the mouth. 'F--- you. You are a f---ing liar.' ... Whatever you'd say, you were an idiot. The call would be, 'This is the worst craft service we've ever had! There's nothing to eat! This is the worst wardrobe!' You knew that every day, you were going to get slammed. The frustrating part is [Heigl] is incredibly talented and smart."

She is next set to appear on a NBC drama that involves White House drama. An insider said that Heigl was wise to settle at this time in career rather than to continue on the silver screen.

"I think she's doing the perfect thing -- going back to television," the source said.

Those close to the 34-year-old actress acknowledged that she had burned bridges. She was described as wanting to start over with a clean slate.

"She's really determined to put everything behind her," an insider said. "The only way to do that is to go to work in film or television with good people and for those people to have good things to report back. And it's not an overnight thing."
