'General Hospital' News: Kelly Thiebaud Discusses Britt Becoming Breakout Character

Kelly Thiebaud has teased what is next to come for her scheming character on General Hospital in an interview with On Air With Soaps that was published Tuesday.

Thiebaud joined GH in 2012 as the trouble making, Dr. Britt Westbourne. She schemed to make the widower Dr. Patrick Drake hers and attempted to sabotage her rival, Sabrina Santiago. Britt even went as far as to pass off her unborn child's as Patrick. The multi layered portrayal of the vixen has turned Thiebaud into a breakout star who has been dubbed The Britch by those who love to hate the character.

"I did not want to play this one layer of her just being a shark and a bitch.  I am really happy that they brought in her family, and a back-story so people understand kind of her lack of love, and lack of empathy for other people, and kind of not knowing how to deal with and interact with people.  I am really happy that they did that, because it gives her even more layers.  It explores who she is more," she said.

Thiebaud also shared her impression of working with Tyler Christopher who plays Nikolas. Nikolas and Britt have been growing closer in the past few months and have developed a fan base.

"Still to this day, there are times when I am a little bit uncomfortable and not myself thinking, "It is Nikolas!"  It has been awesome.  Tyler is very supportive and talented as an actor to work with," she said.
