Giuliana and Bill Rancic's surrogate has reportedly suffered a miscarriage with their second child.

Earlier this year, the reality show pair began the process of welcoming a second child, hiring the surrogate who brought them their first child, Edward Duke. Sadly, the woman, Delphine, recently lost the baby.

"This whole season on Giuliana and Bill we've been trying to have another baby," Rancic told PEOPLE Magazine"Unfortunately our surrogate Delphine who we love very much had a miscarriage. It's something that we didn't see coming. We were devastated."

Giuliana and Bill have struggled with miscarriage and infertility for years. After trying to conceive naturally but being unsuccessful, Giuliana began in vitro fertilization, but in March 2010, suffered a miscarriage. Months later, in late 2010, Giuliana underwent a second in vitro fertilization, but the procedure did not result in a pregnancy. Then, during Giuliana's third treatment, it was discovered that she had breast cancer. Months later, she underwent a double mastectomy.

Despite their struggles, the Rancics were determined to have a family and on Aug. 29, 2012, they got their wish, welcoming a baby boy, Edward Duke Rancic, via surrogate.

Now, as Duke approaches his second birthday, parents Giuliana and Bill are looking to the future, hoping he will one day be joined by a sibling.

"We're fighters," Bill explained to PEOPLE. "Hopefully we're going to have good news and Delphine will be on board one more time. We've had to battle it out and that's something that we're going to continue to do."

Giuliana & Bill's season seven finale airs on June 3 on E!
