Leah Calvert's daughter opened up about her illness during the filming of Teen Mom 2 season 5B.

Ali Simms was recently diagnosed with a rare form of muscular dystrophy, and in the upcoming season of Teen Mom 2, fans will hear first-hand how Ali feels about her physical limitations.

In a July 8 sneak peek at the new season, via Radar Online, Corey Simms is heard telling his ex-wife, Calvert, that their daughter had opened up to him about her illness. "'Daddy I’m not strong because I have muscular dystrophy, and I can’t do a lot of things,’" Simms recalled her saying.

Earlier this year, during the season five premiere of Teen Mom 2, Calvert, along with her child's father, Simms, and new husband, Jeremy Calvert, discovered Ali was suffering from Titin muscular dystrophy, which would progressively get worse over time and eventually confine Ali to a wheelchair.

Shortly after the episode aired, Calvert spoke to Us Weekly about her daughter's condition.

"Ali could be in the chair all the time," Calvert, 21, explained in Jan. 2014. "But I've never seen her so happy. She chases [twin] Aleeah and doesn't fall down anymore."

Also on the upcoming season, fans will watch as Calvert and her husband deal with their marital issues once again. In the trailer for Teen Mom 2 season 5B, Calvert and husband Jeremy are seen having an argument in the car, during which Calvert claims Jeremy is controlling her whole life.

Teen Mom 2 season 5B premieres on July 16 at 10 p.m. on MTV.
