'Teen Mom' Season Five: Amber Portwood And Gary Shirley Run Into Ex During Kindergarten Open House

Amber Portwood and Gary Shirley had an awkward run-in during filming on what will likely be the new season of Teen Mom.

With a camera crew in tow, Portwood and Shirley took their 5-year-old daughter, Leah, to her first day of kindergarten at Pendleton, Indiana’s East Elementary School, and while there, they ran into Shirley's ex-girlfriend, Kristina Anderson.

“Gary and Amber seemed to be having a heated conversation near the car,” an onlooker told Radar Online on Aug. 6. “Amber had her arm crossed. She definitely didn’t look happy.”

While in attendance at Leah's first day, Portwood and Shirley attended an ice cream social, and although things were fun at first, they reportedly took a turn for the worse later in the day. In addition to Portwood and Shirley's fight, Anderson was allegedly upset, as well. According to the onlooker, she was seen crying with her mother and daughter, Karla.

“It seemed like there had just been some sort of confrontation,” the eyewitness explained. “Now that Leah and Karly are going to the same school, I hope there won’t be constant drama between the parents!”

In Dec. 2013, Shirley went off on an angry rant on Twitter, accusing his then-girlfriend, Anderson, of cheating on him. At the time, he claimed Anderson, whom he had given a promise ring to after nine months of dating, was in a relationship with another man.

Portwood and Shirley dated years ago, prior to Portwood's 2012-2013 prison stint, and are now co-parenting their daughter as friends.
