Kim Kardashian and her sisters, Kendall and Kylie, are involved in a scandal over their VMA behavior during the Michael Brown tribute.

As MTV paid their respects to the late Michael Brown on Sunday night, the Keeping Up With The Kardashians stars played on their phones, immediately causing Twitter to go into an uproar over their disrespectful actions.

"Kim Kardashian and her half-sisters are drawing fury over social media for appearing to send text messages while the audience at MTV's Video Music Awards took a moment of silence in honor of slain black teenager Michael Brown," the Daily Mail reported on Aug. 25.

During the MTV Video Awards' Aug. 24 presentation, rapper Common requested the audience take a moment of silence to think about Brown's death, as well as the racially-charged clashes between police and protesters in Ferguson, Missouri. As he did, the cameras caught the three reality star sisters on their phones, looking too preoccupied with what they were doing to pay their respects.

While many fans gave the sisters the benefit of the doubt, hoping there was some sort of delay, MTV has since confirmed to the Daily Star there was no delay, nor were any mistakes made in the aired footage.

"Let's not pretend we're shocked the Kardashian girls were texting during a moment of silence for Ferguson at the VMAs," one fan said. Another added, "I would pay TOP DOLLAR to see Kim Kardashian point out Ferguson on a map."

Thus far, the Kardashian sisters have not commented on the issue.
