Kanye West is telling the media to "pick a new target."

West has had enough. After requesting all audience members -- even those handicapped and in wheelchairs -- to stand up at the Australian leg of his Yeezus tour, West received tons of criticism. Now, he's fighting back against the media.

"At my concerts, I make sure everybody has good of a time as possible, so all this demonizing me it ain't going to work after a while," he told fans at his Brisbane show on Sunday night, via a Sept. 15 report by MTV News.

"Pick a new target. Pick a new target cause I'm not one of these dumb-a** artists that you're used to," he continued. "You come at me and I'm gonna take my platform and break this shit down for the real intelligent people every night so they can understand, then we get back to the music."

The rapper specifically called out NBC's Today show anchor Matt Lauer, telling him he will not be forced into another "fake-a** apology." This is in reference to West's 2005 comment where he said, "George Bush doesn't care about black people," while enforcing Hurricane Katrina relief.

However, there is some merit buried beneath West's complaints to the media. Perhaps, he argued, it is time to focus on more important, more pressing stories.

"It's like, welcome to today's news, ladies and gentlemen, you know? We got Americans getting killed on TV, kids getting killed every weekend in Chicago, we have unarmed people being killed by police officers and we have Kanye West buying ice cream and also that squirrel can jet ski," he said. "You know, it makes you just want to reflect on the things that are a little more sensationalized than others so I wanna take this platform."
