Diem Brown Is Battling Cancer For The Third Time

Last month, The Challenge star received a third cancer diagnosis. As if that weren't devastating enough, her chemotherapy was recently delayed after a doctor found another tumor in her kidneys.

"I was so frustrated that it seems my body keeps throwing me curve balls over and over," Brown told PEOPLE Magazine of the tumor discovery on Sept. 27. "It's hard to keep your spirit and your mind positive ... But I'm glad we are catching these curve balls and fixing them, one by one."

Diem Brown "Weak And Overwhelmed" After Cancer Diagnosis

On Thursday, Brown, 32, was hospitalized in New York City after her doctors found a blockage in her kidneys. Prior to the discovery, Brown was scheduled to begin chemotherapy on Tuesday.

In mid-August, while filming the latest installment of MTV's The Challenge, Brown collapsed and was flown to NYC, where doctors diagnosed her with colon cancer. In the days that followed, Brown underwent two emergency surgeries, the second of which was to correct a complication from the first.

Since her surgeries, Brown has been doing her best to gain weight in hopes of starting chemotherapy and ridding her body of cancer once again.

Earlier this month, Brown spoke to PEOPLE about her "cup half full" attitude.

"The journey is so worth it," she said, "because living and being alive is more than a cliché. It's the truth that life is a gift, and your support system is such a huge component of recovery when you feel your spirit wane."

Brown is scheduled to be released from the hospital on Saturday.
