In the #RichKids of Beverly Hills season finale, Johnson announced he wanted to undergo the surgery, and now, a source has confirmed he received a gastric sleeve procedure in early August, shortly after filming wrapped on the show's second season.

"A lot of people think it's the easy way out, but it's not. It's a step in the right direction, just a big push," Johnson said in an episode, according to a Sept. 28 report by E! News. "I feel very mature, kind of in the right place for it and I'm very ready to look cute. The surgery is a huge deal for me and it will certainly be a positive change."

According to E! News, gastric sleeve surgery shrinks the stomach, making those who undergo the procedure feel full quicker. The procedure also forces patients to make lifestyle changes, such as eating smaller portion sizes and selecting different foods to lose weight.

One year ago, Johnson, the son of NBA legend Magic Johnson, came out to TMZ, telling the site his family is incredibly supportive of his sexuality.

Months ago, the self-proclaimed "diva" appeared on E!'s Fashion Police as a guest. On the show, the late Joan Rivers asked Johnson about his relationship with his father.

"We go shopping together all the time. He helps me pick out clothes and bags and stuff like that," he said, also adding they "share a common love of fashion and traveling."
