'Real Housewives of Atlanta' Season 7 Cast Revealed

Following the news of Williams' season seven demotion, reports hit the web, revealing why the reality star will be featured in a reduced role when the series returns to Bravo next month.

"Porsha Williams was demoted to being a 'friend' on the upcoming season of 'Real Housewives of Atlanta' after filming had begun ... because producers once again got fed up with her behavior," TMZ reported on Oct. 1.

Porsha Williams Releases Statement Following Anti-Gay Comments

Williams, along with Kenya Moore, were brought aboard The Real Housewives of Atlanta for the show's fifth season, following the reported firing of Sheree Whitfield. During the season six reunion, the pair got into a physical altercation, which sources initially claimed would result in Williams being fired.

After the official season seven announcement was made by Bravo, Williams spoke to Us Weekly, revealing she was "blindsided" by the network's decision to demote her.

"After a long season of filming, and giving my all, I was blindsided by the announcement from the network that I was demoted from 'Housewife Status,' but would remain on the show in a 'Friend' capacity," she continued. "Unfortunately, I can only be PORSHA, and portraying anything else would not be genuine nor honest."

Replacing Williams on the series is new housewife Claudia Jordan.

Also aboard for season seven is Demetria McKinney, who was added as a 'friend' of the cast.

The Real Housewives of Atlanta season seven premieres on Nov. 9 on Bravo.
