Following an array of bad press for allegedly sleeping with prostitutes, Ayers has gone public with his cancer battle. In an new interview, the boyfriend of Real Housewives of Orange County star Vicki Gunvalson revealed he was suffering from Non-Hodgkin lymphoma.

“Life is funny sometimes. Sometimes it is not,” Ayers told Radar Online on Oct. 2. “My reality is that I have, once again, been diagnosed with a form of Non-Hodgkin lymphoma specifically diffuse large B cell lymphoma.”

Ayers and Gunvalson have been in the headlines a lot lately. In addition to their ongoing lawsuit over Gunvalson's Vicki's Vodka line, Ayers recently admitted to sleeping with a prostitute. In the leaked video, which was taken during a meeting with a business associate, Ayers claimed to have had sex with at least one prostitute while in Las Vegas.

Gunvalson later told press Ayers' bad behavior happened over a year ago. She also said, despite their ongoing relationship, that Ayers was free to date whomever he wanted.

Gunvalson has yet to comment on Ayers' diagnosis, but according to him, his condition is quite serious and could result in death if not treated properly.

According to Ayers, diffuse large B cell lymphoma, or DLBCL, "is a fast-growing, aggressive form of NHL. DLBCL is fatal if left untreated, but with timely and appropriate treatment, approximately 60 percent of all patients can be cured.”
