Lord of the Rings and Pirates of the Caribbean actor Orlando Bloom is temporarily hanging up his elf ears and swashbuckling swords for some temporary but serious looking tattoos for his upcoming movie, Unlocked.

Far from his clean, boy next door vibe, Bloom adopted a gritty look and was seen with a bad-ass eagle tattoo on his chest as he went shirtless while shooting some scenes in Prague for the upcoming thriller. He also had some ink "done" near his navel and around his neck.

To complete the transformation, Bloom wore low slung pants, trainers, had his hair pulled back, and even sported a stud on his ear.

Directed by Michael Apted, of Chasing Mavericks fame, Unlocked tells the story of a CIA agent who unknowingly and accidentally aids a group of terrorists, who are planning to attack London with biological warfare.

While Bloom's character has yet to be confirmed, insiders speculate that he might be on the other side of the law this time around.

Meanwhile, Bloom has been considering a possible comeback to the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise. Fans might see him in Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales, the fifth installment in the popular franchise.

It has been a busy time for the actor, who has appeared in The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug, and will be in the upcoming The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies. Proving his versatility, Bloom has also taken on the challenging world of Broadway, playing the iconic Romeo in Romeo and Juliet

Unlocked also stars Michael Douglas and Noomi Rapace. The latter was last seen in The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo and Prometheus. Release date for the movie has yet to be confirmed.
