HBO has just launched an online viral campaign for Game of Thrones season five with the release last Tuesday of a ten-second teaser trailer that is focused exclusively on Arya Stark (played by Maisie Williams).

The teaser clip shows Arya Stark being haunted by visions of her fighting with and thrusting her sword Needle into the chest of an enemy, holding the Braavosi coin she got from Jaqen H'ghar (played by Tom Wlaschiha), and then the image of a door while a woman's voice sounding like the high priestess Melisandre (played by Carice van Houten) saying, "I see a darkness in you."

Along with the teaser's release came an invitation from the Game of Thrones producers to visit a new website called ThreeEyedRaven.com. Once at the site, visitors will find a message saying: "The Raven Brings The Sight." At the site, visitors will also find an image of what seems to be a door knob with an inscription above that reads: "Continue to receive visions of the future." On clicking the image, they will be asked: "How do you wish to receive the sight?" Visitors who want to receive "the sight" can choose between two platforms - Twitter or SMS. Once a choice is made by clicking on either of the two, they will receive a direct message reading: "You now have the power of #TheSight. Keep watch for visions of the future."

The "three-eyed raven" has been an ominous Game of Thrones symbol from seasons one to four. Eventually, it came to be associated with Bran Stark (played by Isaac Hempstead-Wright) who was seen experiencing visions with the creature in his dreams. Its use as the website's name and the first teaser trailer's subject of focus suggests a possibility that perhaps Arya's and Bran's storylines could get closer in the upcoming season. However, the show's producers have previously indicated that Bran may not be appearing in season five, to allow for other storylines in the TV series to catch up to where his is in relation to the source material in the George RR Martin seven-book A Song of Ice and Fire epic saga.
