'Tis the season to be jolly but before you reach for those delicious Christmas baked goodies you might want to go over your resolutions first. If losing weight is one of them then you are not in the right

track. Though Christmas is the best excuse to go and eat all you can, you might end up regretting it later with the weight you just gained from eating that fruit cake. But don't worry as Harley Pasternak is on the rescue!

The brains behind the toned bodies of celebrities such as Jessica Simpson and Jennifer Hudson shared a few trade secrets on how you can still have that great figure over the holidays.

Pasterak shared in an interview with Us Weekly that you shouldn't be too hard on yourself but rather you "should celebrate and allow yourself a little bit of leeway". But he further adds that calories will always count and suggests that you should always go to a seasonal event with a full stomach.

The celebrity trainer further shares practical ways on how you can control your food intake by taking the proper food proportions to your plate. This is starting with the veggies first before trekking up to
the lean protein servings such as turkey and ham.  He adds that you should make sure to load up your plate with lean meat so that you won't spend too much time filling up with carbs found in potatoes and
bread.

However, in terms of temptation for those nice hot breads this season, one can have two meals in a week as a break. "Giving yourself permission to indulge twice weekly means you can celebrate guilt-free
-- but not go too overboard".

If there are no parties, does not mean you can just laze around. The trainer encourages one to go out and exercise but that does not mean it has to be in the gym all the time. Investing in fitness equipment or just a brand new pair of sneaker to go on a lengthy walk can help.
