"I learned to accept my body when the trend started becoming less about super, super skinny models," Demi Lovato tells Allure in an interview. "That was completely unattainable for anybody to have. Kim Kardashian -- say whatever you want about her -- but she has revolutionized what's accepted with curves nowadays," she adds.

The 22-year-old Demi (short for Demetria Devonne) will be gracing the cover and pages of the beauty magazine's January 2015 issue. She will be seen in edgy futuristic clothing, which include a strapless black gown, avant-garde black leather gloves that reached up to her biceps, and thigh-high black stiletto boots, but wearing minimal makeup for a deliberate soft look. "We wanted today to be super natural; show my skin, show my freckles," the singer revealed in the interview which will go with photographer Alexi Lubomirski's pictorial spread.

Demi has had a long struggle with bulimia, depression, self-harming, not to mention drug and alcohol abuse. Now, she is more comfortable in her own skin. In fact, so much so that she can now say in print: "What makes me feel sexy is being able to rock no makeup wherever I go, also, wearing pants or skirts that show off my beautiful assets. It's my butt. I love my butt. Hopefully it stays that way, because this isn't going anywhere."

In Demi's close-up face shot, she is seen wearing hardly any makeup and no foundation, with her hair styled by Alexis Bittar with an undercut, teal locks and ear cuff. She reveals that she does have a regimen to help her maintain her blemish-free fresh complexion. Said she: "I do have a regimen and I stick to it. No matter how tired I am, I always take my makeup off before I go to sleep. I always wash my face, use a toner, sometimes a serum if I need some extra love. Then I wear a really thick night cream. I just listen to my skin."

Allure's January issue will be available in newsstands beginning this December 23.
