Tom Cruise and ex-wife Katie Holmes have reportedly spent Christmas Day together for the sake of their eight-year-old daughter Suri, according to Tribute News. Quoting from an unnamed source, the gossip site wrote: "Katie wants to spend Christmas with her own family but has to put Suri first and will do everything in her power to make her happy.... So she's asked him to come to their new home. Tom's agreed to try to schedule his holidays to involve Suri as much as possible. It was Tom's turn to have Suri on Christmas Day last year, so to see her again this year will be a bonus."

Cruise and Holmes divorced in 2012 following five years of marriage. Under the settlement agreement, Holmes, 36, got primary physical custody of Suri. For his part, Cruise, 52, did admit that Katie fled their marriage to protect their daughter from Scientology. Cruise was introduced to the controversial religion by his first wife Mimi Rogers, who herself is now a former Scientology member. Cruise and Holmes, following the divorce, issued a joint press statement saying: "We want to keep matters affecting our family private and express our respect for each other's commitment to each of our respective beliefs and support each other's roles as parents."

Meanwhile, Cruise will be resuming filming for Mission Impossible 5 right after the holiday breaks. Scenes for the upcoming next installment in the long-running franchise, which is scheduled for showing in theaters December 25, 2015, are still being shot in various location sites in Europe. In fact, to the amusement of fans, Cruise while filming a scene in London on December 2 was almost run over by a double decker bus.

As for Holmes, she'll be seen gracing the cover and pages of the February issue of Elle Canada. In her interview with the fashion and beauty, the actress revealed that she willsoon be making her directorial debut in the mother-daughter drama All We Had, in which she will also star, which is based on the Annie Weatherwax novel of the same name.Said she: "There aren't as many movies being made, period, so the challenge is to create projects for yourself."
