CBS' The Mentalist Season 7 returns to air Wednesday, January 14, at its regular 8:00 p.m. time slot with episode 7 entitled "Little Yellow House." Directed by Ed Ornelas from a script by Marisa Wegrzyn, it will be following a murder investigation that becomes personal for Lisbon when she learns that her underachieving younger brother, Jimmy, is being sought as a key witness in the case.

The Mentalist stars Simon Baker as FBI consultant Patrick Jane, Robin Tunney as FBI special agent Teresa Lisbon, Tim Kang as FBI special agent Kimball Cho, Rockmond Dunbar as FBI supervisory special agent Dennis Abbot, Joe Adler as FBI special Jason Wylie, and Josie Loren as FBI special agent Michelle Vega. For the "Little Yellow House" episode, Robert Belushi and Derek Philips guest star as Lisbon's brother Jimmy and Stan, respectively. Other guest actors who will be seen in episode 7 include Melissa Sears, Tom Gallop, Jeremy Ratchford, Michael Cory Davis, Janelle Marra, David C. Scott, Romi Dias, Ryan Churchill, Anthony Ma, and David Barge.

It has long been confirmed that Season 7 will be the last for The Mentalist after a run that started September 23, 2008, on CBS. Created by Bruno Heller who is also the executive producer, the show follows former stage 'psychic' and 'medium' for the gullible rich Patrick Jane (Baker), who is a consultant, first with the CBI in California then with the FBI in Austin, Texas, where is uses the highly developed observational skills he previously employed to 'read' people's minds to solving crimes and catching the criminals. Much of Seasons 1 to 6 touched on Jane's personal quest to hunt down 'Red John,' a serial killer who was responsible for the brutal murder of his wife Angela and daughter Charlotte. He succeeded in finally getting his revenge against the man who turned out to be Thomas McAllistair, the seemingly bumbling sheriff of Napa County, during the show's 124th episode.
