"He gave me his heart on Valentine's Day, and I said YES!" reads the caption on Lady Gaga's Instagram post Saturday of a black and white photo of her ring finger with a heart shaped jewel. By "he," Lady Gaga (Stefani Joanne Germanotta when of the stage), 28, is referring to actor and model Taylor Kinney, 33, who is best known to TV viewers for his role as Lieutenant Kelley Severide of Rescue Squad Co. 3 in NBC's Chicago Fire.

Lady Gaga and her now fiancé first met on set of the "You & I" music video, which was shot in Nebraska back in 2011. Coincidentally, Gaga wore her mother's actual wedding gown in some scenes of the video, which also starred Kinney as the supposed object of her affection. Several months since then, they resumed contact and started dating until May2012 when they split briefly. They got back together the following month. In a recent interview with Howard Stern [via US Weekly], Gaga admitted that she would marry Kinney if he proposed. Said she then: "He is the right guy. How do we know? It's this feeling..." But then, she went on to joke: "If I get married, I'll be hanging out in a pickup truck at a David's Bridal while my stylist is screaming at me."

As for Kinney, he told US Weekly back in April that she pushes him to be better. Said he: "[She] is someone who's always in your corner, that believes in you and your work, and vice versa. You know, I love what she does and her work and music and charity. She inspires so many people including myself."

Gaga is noted not only for her flamboyant and diverse contributions to the music industry but also for her legendary philanthropic activities and her fierce advocacy for LGBT rights.
