The glamorous event took place at CCIB, Placa de Willy Brandt in Barcelona, Spain on the 1st of March at 18.30 local time. Samsung also took care to make the event available to its fans all over the world by live streaming it on its official blog 'Samsung Tomorrow'.

Samsung Galaxy S6 has gone through major changes both internally and externally. It boasts an unprecedented pixel density of 550 plus ppi with in a screen of 5.1 inch QHD. It is believed to have some major camera and Ram enhancements too, with a 14 nanometer-based 64-bit class Exynos 7 Octa-core CPU. The company is also scheduled to release a limited edition curved dual-edge models on the launch.

This model will have a metal based uni-body design cast in aluminum unlike the previous versions. In addition, a new UFS 2.0 memory would allow faster booting and input and output responses.

Galxy S6 is supposed to hit the stores worldwide somewhere around 22- 30 March or 19-27 April. Pre-order services will start mid-March. The pricing is another anticipated aspect of these models. Based on its counterparts, the pricing is expected to be somewhere between $848 and $1074. The edge version might stand a little costlier within a range of  $961 to $1187.

The launch of the new Smartphone seems to be vital for the company. The reception of Galaxy S6 would determine the market share for Samsung as it stands in tough competition against rivals such as Apple and Xiaomi.

The launch event is expected to be a flashy one like the launch of Galaxy S4 last year. However, the success of the launch can only be celebrated after the product hits the market later this year.
