British actors Sheridan Smith, Rob Brydon and Alexandra Roach will be joining Nick Frost's Nion in the band of dwarfs in Universal Pictures' The Huntsman, a prequel to 2012's box office hit movie Snow White and The Huntsman directed by Rupert Sanders and starred Kristen Stewart.

Like Nick Frost, lead stars Chris Hemsworth and Charlize Theron will be reprising their roles in the first film as Eric the Huntsman and the evil Queen Ravenna, respectively. However, neither Kristen Stewart who starred as Snow White nor Rupert Sanders who was director for Snow White and The Huntsman will be returning in the prequel film. Stewart and Sanders famously got caught by the tabloids having a fling, following which Stewart was dumped by steady boyfriend Robert Pattinson while Sanders was divorced by his wife Liberty Ross.

Cedric Nicolas-Troyan, who got nominated for an Oscar for his visual effects on the first film, has been hired as director for the prequel film. He will be taking over from Frank Daramount who begged off from helming the project but who did manage to finish writing the screenplay for The Huntsman based on earlier drafts done by Craig Mazin and Evan Spiliotopoulos. Joe Roth will also return to produce. Palak Patel will executive produce. VP Production Maradith Frenkel and creative executive Chloe Yellin will be overseeing the project for Universal.

Smith, 33, a winner of two Olivier Awards and a BAFTA TV award recently starred in Dustin Hoffman's Quartet with Maggie Smith. Brydon, 49, who makes an uncredited appearance in Disney's now-showing live-action Cinderella, will also next be seen on the small-screen in HBO's upcoming series The Brink. Roach, 27, recently seen in the British comedy Cuban Fury starring alongside Frost and Chris O'Dowd, will next be playing a part in Channel 4's police drama series No Offence.

Already confirmed to co-star with Hemsworth and Theron in the upcoming The Huntsman are Jessica Chastain, 37, who is currently still filming The Martian with director Ridley Scott, and Emily Blunt, 32, who likewise is currently still filming Sicario with director Denis Villeneuve.
