The Washington Post reports of a game which was very popular with kids during the early onset of the 80s.  This was the time when Super Mario and Sonic were the favorites and kids were satisfied with their Nintendo and Sega players.

With the 2D maze-like platform, this game will take you back in time with "Ori and the Blind Forest" where adventure with great and meticulous art is used and the traditional style, the Metroidvania way.

Moon Studio has just released "Ori and the Blind Forest" on PC and Xbox.  Players will control Ori, a small, agile and luminous cute creature will jump, climb walls, unlock numerous doors and solve several puzzles in an attempt to connect the elements of Wind, Warmth and Water to bring back balance and peace to his chaotic world.

The other character Naru keeps Ori as her own and they live in the forest harmoniously until a disastrous event happened: the forest was blinded and the surroundings become dark.  Ori tries to save the forest by running, jumping and looking for ways to unlock powerful abilities or using talent points coming from the specialized trees.  The puzzles get harder so the players can use the acquired abilities like double jump, glide or climb walls.  Just as the players are able to master them, new abilities are added so you won't get bored.

Monsters are also one of the things Ori has to fight with.  It may not be as advanced as today's platforms but Ori still has to zap them with his weapon, spirit-fire which became more and more exciting as the game progresses.  Players should know when to combine skills to redirect the enemy's projectiles.

A move that can help players when faced or trapped in an ugly spot is the save function using the last energy ball.  This is what makes "Ori and the Blind Forest" stand out from the rest and it gives players the additional and more challenges and makes them play more.
