Warner Bros. Pictures' Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice is set to hit theaters on May 6, 2016. Although touted as the sequel to last year's Man of Steel major blockbuster, the film's official website shows that Ben Affleck who plays Batman gets first billing over Henry Cavill who stars as Superman, so much so that Alan Orange at Movie Web writes: "this is now looked at as more of a prequel to Justice League Part 1 and Justice League Part 2. A true sequel to Man of Steel, which solely focuses on Henry Cavill's Clark Kent is rumored to be in the works, and will supposedly be released before 2020."

The movie's plot is still not known but the 'Batman v Superman' in title suggests that the Dark Knight's brand of justice-at-any-cost pragmatism could stand in the way of the Man of Steel's resolve to play-by-the-rules no-matter-what idealism. And the 'Dawn of Justice' in the title also suggests that it could be an origin story for the Justice League.

Filmed under the direction of Zack Snyder from a screenplay by Chris Terrio based on a story co-written by Snyder with David Goyer, Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice will have Henry Cavill reprising his role as Clark Kent/Superman, as will Amy Adams as Lois Lane, Laurence Fishburne as Perry White, Diane Lane as Martha Kent. Jesse Eisenberg will portray his arch-criminal Lex Luthor with Tao Okamoto as his assistant Mercy Graves.

Ben Affleck stars as Bruce Wayne/Batman and Jeremy Irons as Alfred Pennyworth. Israeli actress Gal Gadot who made her film debut in Fast & Furious 4 portrays Diana Prince/Wonder Woman. Holly Hunter will portray a US Senator, theater actor Ray Fisher will play Victor Stone/Cyborg while Jason Momoa has been cast as Arthur Curry/Aquaman.

Going over the newly released film credits, Gal Gadot is ninth on the list behind Jeremy Irons and Holly Hunter, suggesting her Wonder Woman role is less substantial to the story than previously rumored. Jason Momoa who plays Aquaman and Ray Fisher who plays Cyborg are not even shown on the list, although they are both confirmed to be in the film.
