NASA Still Looking for Exoplanets in Outer Space

NASA is planning in bringing together the world's best research groups to develop an advanced and more integrated approach in looking for the exoplanets that are livable as per the report of The Hoops News.

The department responsible for the search is the Nexus for Exoplanet System Science with the main goal of finding more exoplanets.  The discovery of such exoplanets began in 1995 wherein 51 Pegasi b was found in a suitable orbit which was surrounded by a star which looks like the sun.  It was also learned that this exoplanet is also a small part of a different solar system which is similar to our own.

Exoplanets have been raising the interests of scientists after the space telescope Kepler was launched by NASA.  Astronomers then had a clearer view of the space hence many exoplanets were discovered.

This brings the astronomers to work continually to find ways to developing a program to check if the discovered exoplanets can be inhabited.  Another thing they have to look for is signs if there is extraterrestrial life that exists on those exoplanets.

NASA's Dr. Jim Green who is the Director of Planetary Science stated that astronomers were not just the only ones who look forward to finding more exoplanets or even celestial life but scientists who are responsible for planetary and climate advocates.

NexSS is a virtual comprehensive institute by initiated by NASA that provides more knowledge and other expertise of renowned universities all over the world.  Other members include the best research institutes and three of NASA's centers.

With the initiative by NexSS, what NASA tries to accomplish is to have a better understanding what makes up the exoplanets.  They are also finding out more information on how planets and their parent stars interact with one another to support life in outer space.
