A video blog post released at 007.com early Thursday morning has introduced James Bond's femme fatales. Spectre women came into character through Léa Seydoux and Monica Bellucci.

The dazing European femme fatales appeared in the 24th James Bond instalment that is expected to be released in theatres, Nov. 6.

Bellucci (The Matrix Reloaded) is the oldest actress to portray a so-called Bond girl. Her character as Lucia Sarra embodies a "widow with secrets", she explained. Lucia's Mafioso husband is killed and she's cautious on her safety. She appears at a funeral glam and wicked in a black mourning dress and netted veil while making time for a private affair with Bond.

On the same clip, the Spectre women whom Bond hooks up with "have great mystery", director Sam Mendes explains. He adds, "And I just thought, Monica Bellucci: It makes sense for the story. It makes sense for the ages of the characters we're dealing with. And she's an incredibly seductive presence in life and in the movie."

Seydoux, the French Star of the Cannes Sensation Blue Is The Warmest Color, is described by Mendes as "intelligent and very sensitive" which also happens to be a doctor. She will play the role of Madeleine, a woman that needs to be soulful, feisty and complicated.

The clip arrives with a new official synopsis for Spectre:

A cryptic message from the past sends James Bond (Daniel Craig) on a rogue mission to Mexico City and eventually Rome, where he meets Lucia Sciarra (Monica Bellucci), the beautiful and forbidden widow of an infamous criminal.  Bond infiltrates a secret meeting and uncovers the existence of the sinister organisation known as SPECTRE.

Meanwhile back in London, Max Denbigh (Andrew Scott), the new head of the Centre for National Security, questions Bond's actions and challenges the relevance of MI6, led by M (Ralph Fiennes). Bond covertly enlists Moneypenny (Naomie Harris) and Q (Ben Whishaw) to help him seek out Madeleine Swann (Léa Seydoux), the daughter of his old nemesis Mr White (Jesper Christensen), who may hold the clue to untangling the web of SPECTRE. As the daughter of an assassin, she understands Bond in a way most others cannot.

As Bond ventures towards the heart of SPECTRE, he learns of a chilling connection between himself and the enemy he seeks, played by Christoph Waltz.
