After a decade, the "High School Musical" cast is still very good friends with each other. The original cast members of the hit original Disney movie reunited the past weekend to reflect on the movie. Noticeably absent in the reunion was lead male star Zac Efron.

Original cast members of "High School Musical" Vanessa Hudgens, Ashley Tisdale, Corbin Bleu, Monique Coleman and Lucas Grabeel all met up in "East High" to reminisce, MTV reports. A teaser video for the special covered this interesting weekend.

Apart from the video, the cast showed how much they missed each other and how close they are to one another even after all the time that passed by, sharing a lot of fun pictures they took over the weekend.

Grabeel opted to post a picture of him with Bleu wearing their "class rings." On the other hand, Tisdale took to her Instagram account to post two pictures, first of the gym that most faithful fans of the "High School Musical" will be familiar with and the second a groupie of them five original cast members, all smiles.

Efron was, however, nowhere to be found during this happy reunion. According to Billboard.com, the actor could not attend the pretaped group reunion because of scheduling conflict since he is currently busy promoting his movie, "Dirty Grandpa." However, the actor did not totally forget about the movie that launched his career. He taped a message to fans, which will be shown on the special.

According to The Vine, fans are not happy with this. Many fans took to their Twitter accounts to diss Efron. Some alluded Efron's decision to skip the reunion to Matthew Perry's decision not to appear with "Friends" co-stars in a reunion. Fans accused the two of ruining 2016 for them as early as now. "High School Musical" reunion will be aired later this week on Disney Channel as an anniversary special.
