Talks of a "Yuri On Ice" season 2 have been going on and on for quite awhile now. Since the viewers have taken the Japanese sports anime television series very well, many were expecting that a sequel is already a done deal. But months have passed after the Episode 12 concluded and there is still no official "Yuri On Ice" season 2 release date. However, a new report claims that the wait for the sequel may finally be over soon.

"Yuri On Ice" has definitely captured a lot of hearts since the story is not only unique but it is also realistic and relatable. While most of the anime protagonists win the battles and get what they want, Yuri Katsuki had to face humiliation and defeat. His loser moments may actually be one of the reasons why the show is such a huge hit. Everybody loves an underdog story, and this is exactly what "Yuri On Ice" is feeding the audience, making it an instant success.

Yuri Katsuki certainly has all the goods to become the next best thing. However, his lack of confidence is making him second-guess himself which is hindering him from being the top contender. But with living legend, Victor Nikiforov, by his side to remind him how good he is, Yuri Katsuki delivered a heart-felt performance in "Yuri On Ice" Season 1, Episode 12. Unfortunately, his best was not good enough and only bagged the silver medal.

The silver medal may have angered a lot of fans, but it was actually a sign of hope for those who were reading between the lines. If Yuri Katsuki nabbed the gold medal, then he has nothing to prove anymore, so the story ends. But since he didn't get to win first place, it could mean that the young figure skater is going to finally get his revenge in the following seasons, which prompted fans to believe that "Yuri On Ice" season 2 is definitely going to happen.

The show's creator, Mitsurou Kubo, has already showed interest in making "Yuri On Ice" season 2. The Japanese manga artist revealed in an English interview that she "wish to create a sequel." Although there is no official "Yuri On Ice" season 2 release date yet, Korea Portal suggested that the sequel may be released by October. However, the site quickly noted that the series may take awhile to be developed and the said date could be impossible.
