Tyra Banks Returns As 'America's Next Top Model' Cycle 24 Host, Says Thanks and Goodbye to Rita Ora

Only a few days after Tyra Banks revealed that she will be replacing Nick Cannon as the host of “America’s Got Talent,” VH1 announced that the model will be returning once more to host her reality TV series, “America’s Next Top Model.”

For the recently concluded “America’s Next Top Model” Season 23, Tyra Banks left her hosting job and let singer-actress Rita Ora do the talking. Despite enjoying her time behind the camera as executive producer, Tyra admitted on Twitter that she misses working full-time for her beloved series.

"I'm overwhelmed and humbled by the intensity of the ANTM fan base whose deep affection for the show led me to have a change of heart," Tyra Banks said in an official statement. Ken Mok, Tyra Banks’ fellow executive producer for “America’s Next Top Model,” also issued an official statement through which he offered thanks to Rita for handling the hosting duties, as reported by E! Online. He emphasized the “How We Do” singer’s efforts towards incorporating her unique style and creativity into the show. Furthermore, Ken acknowledged the return of Tyra Banks on “America’s Next Top Model,” with the “heart and soul” of the well-loved series being missed by her loyal fans.

Tyra Banks only appeared briefly in the “America’s Next Top Model” cycle 23 finale in which India Gants, the model with the biggest transformation,” from Seattle, Washington took home the title. Tyra helped out Rita and the rest of the panel that included plus-size supermodel Ashley Graham, Paper Magazine CCO Drew Elliott and stylist Law Roach to choose the next top model. In the end, India triumphed over classy Tatiana Price to bring home the “ANTM” crown. “America’s Next Top Model” cycle 24 is set to begin this summer on VH1.
