'Desperate Housewife' Star Eva Longoria Set To Make An Onscreen Comeback In Latest Fox Comedy Pilot - 'Type-A'

Actress Eva Longoria famous for her role in the TV series "Desperate Housewives" has signed a deal to play the lead role in Fox's pilot comedy programme. The show titled "Type-A" is reported to be an office comedy to be shot in the style of single-camera.

Eva Longoria, who has also starred in "Telenovela" will play the character of an ambitious consultant who is brutally honest, Variety reported. In addition it is reported that her character, Axler -- is constantly at war with her ability to be an inner "nice person."

 Eva Longoria's latest role will take her into the life of the corporate world among  consultants  chosen to do the bidding that most professional outfits prefer not to handle. Her character as a consultant has been hired to be the bearer of bad news in an office. From downsizing of staff to job layoffs these consultants are the beginning of the end for many but for each other they are family, the publication reported.

Fans of Eva Longoria will be interested to learn the comedy pilot was written by Lesley Wake Webster. The writer is famous for penning "The Odd Couple" and "New Girl" while direction of the series will be handled by Jason Winer famous for his work on the popular "Modern Family" series. According to reports both Winer and Webster will be executive producing, Deadline claimed.

The inspiration of Eva Longoria's character draws from a novel by Aaron James, the Hollywood Reporter claimed. The book titled "Assholes: A Theory" looks at the darker unpleasant side of the corporate world.

Fans of Eva Longoria last caught a glimpse of the actress in "Empire" Season 3  when she portrayed the character of  Charlotte Frost. Since then the actress has had the opportunity to  direct an episode of "Jane The Virgin" which was nominated for a Golden Globe in 2016. Furthermore, the actress is also set to direct an episode of "Black-ish" in the future.
