"This is Us" Season 1 finale left many fans with a lot of burning questions in mind. For instance, the mystery surrounding Jack's death has not been resolved and instead, viewers were given a glimpse into the events preceding Jack and Rebecca's separation.

While many were quite disappointed that the NBC series did not offer answers to their questions, the cast told E! News that fans should not be fixated on this arc alone. Milo Ventimiglia shared that more of the characters' backstories will be explored in "This is Us" Season 2.

Sterling Brown, who plays Randall, told EW that the finale has clearly set up the stage for the events that will take place in "This is Us" Season 2. Aside from Jack and Rebecca, Randall will have a burning desire to adopt.

Chrissy Metz also shared that Kate will explore her singing career in "This is Us" Season 2 so that she does not only have the weight loss arc to define her character. Meanwhile, Carter Matt also reports on the possible air date for the new season.

According to the publication, "This is Us" Season 2 release date may be this fall, which may fall on the third or fourth week of September. More details about the show's release date may be announced by NBC in May since that is when the network usually releases its fall schedule.
