Vanessa Hudgens revealed that she and her former "High School Musical" co-star and ex-boyfriend Zac Efron are not on speaking terms. They famously dated for five years before splitting in 2010.

The 28-year-old actress appeared on "Access Hollywood" to promote her Marvel television show entitled "Powerless." When the discussion about her "High School Musical" days began, host Natalie Morales asked her if she was still in touch with Efron, whom she met while on the set of the film, which was first released on Disney Channel in 2006.

"No, that's not a thing that happens. I completely lost contact with him," Hudgens responded, according to the Daily Mail. The discussion then turned towards her relationship with her current boyfriend Austin Butler, who she dated a year after she parted ways with the "High School Musical" and "Baywatch" star. "He's just the best," she giddily exclaimed to the co-host.

Hudgens, who played Gabriella Montez in "High School Musical" explained that the key to keeping her relationship strong with the actor is communication. At the moment, the couple is having a long distance relationship, as the actor is currently in New Zealand to film his latest movie "The Shannara Chronicles."

Meanwhile, a fourth installment of the "High School Musical" franchise is currently in the works. Disney Channel announced the move last year. The fourth film, to be aired on the channel, will feature "a new class of East High Wildcats." But Hudgens has expressed no interest in reprising her role, nor appear in the latest film as a new character.

"I mean, I'm 28," Hudgens said to E! News. "I could be a teacher, but I refuse to be a teacher! I'm still a teenager at heart. So probably not with me, but I'm excited to see what they whip together." She also spoke of her astonishment that a lot of kids are still watching "High School Musical." "It think it just shows the power of a musical. They're timeless," she concluded. Watch a clip of "Powerless" below:
