"Steven Universe" is included in Cartoon Network's recently released 2017-18 programming slate alongside six returning shows and six new ones, reports Deadline. Details of the network's programming slate tease that the series will be returning with new arcs wherein viewers will discover more about the Gem Homeworld.

"Steven Universe" Season 5 is also expected to introduce more Gems and see the arrival of other Diamonds to Earth. The upcoming season of the CN series will also reportedly see the transition of its titular character, Steven, into a leader.

This made a lot of fans excited for "Steven Universe" Season 5, especially because many have been expecting to gain more insight on the Gem Homeworld and a deeper understanding of Rose Quartz and the Diamonds. In an earlier interview with Newsarama, series creator Rebecca Sugar admitted that she has "big plans" for the fifth season of the show.

The series creator explained that she has no idea whether "Steven Universe" Season 5 will be the final season or not. Sugar shared that whether it is the endgame or not, she will be "shooting for the moon."

Many fans have been expressing their fears over the future of "Steven Universe" Season 5 on Cartoon Network, especially since the network has decided to put an end to "Adventure Time."
