While the show has helped make Henson a household name, a new report suggests that the actress may be considering to leave the show in order to pursue more roles in movies.
"Empire" Season 3 cast news reveals that many fans are wondering whether Taraji P. Henson will be leaving the Fox drama to take on more roles in movie projects. According to Celeb Dirty Laundry, the actress recently snagged another role in the thriller "Proud Mary."
Henson will reportedly play the role of Mary, whose life changes after meeting a young boy. Henson's role in the said movie raised speculations about the actress' character and fate on "Empire" Season 3.
It is a known fact that shows nowadays are not afraid of killing off their major characters. Henson's role is that of Empire records' matriarch and the other half of Lucious Lyon on "Empire" Season 3.
However, Henson has not expressed any interest in leaving her role on "Empire" Season 3 soon so the rumors on the actress' departure should be taken with a grain of salt. In a recent interview with Stuff, Henson shared that her character plays an important role this season because Cookie is the one responsible for bringing the family together amidst all the chaos.
Henson also shared that she has no idea whether or not Cooke and Lucious will be able to repair their relationship on "Empire" Season 3. The actress also stated that her life has changed since she starred in the Fox series, describing that she could no longer walk the streets without getting the attention from the public.
