'The White Princess' Season 1 Episode 1 Review: 'In Bed With The Enemy'; Ending War Of The Rose; Fiction & History

"The White Princess" Season 1 Episode 1 premiered the story on a glimpse of fiction and history on April 16. This is an adaptation of the Novel written by Philippa Gregory, "The White Queen".

For viewer's knowledge, "The White Princess" Season 1 Episode 1 titled "In Bed with The Enemy" is a continuation of the TV series "The White Queen". According to reviews on Movie Fone, the turning point of the House of York in history and the solidification of Henry Tudor to the throne of England. Of course, some facts are twisted in order to create a momentous timeline of the English history.

Upon defeating the last Yorkist King Richard III, Henry Tudor claimed the English throne by rights of defeating a King on the battlefield. Thus, ending the cousin's war between the House of Plantagenet and the House of York or called War of the Roses. Henry Tudor, otherwise known as Henry VII also lay claims to the throne of birthright as a member of the House of Lancaster but is dubious until the Battle of Bosworth, also the last battle involving the King on the field. This is where "The White Princess" Season 1 Episode 1 kicks in.

The plot was set in August of 1485 when Dowager-Queen Elizabeth Woodville and daughters were summoned by the newly declared King. "The White Princess" Season 1 Episode 1 establishes the storyline that the Elizabeth Woodville and daughters are the family of the late King Edward IV, an enemy of the House of Lancaster. Advisors including King's Mother Margaret Beaufort advice for the King to marry Princess Elizabeth, the eldest daughter of Elizabeth Woodville and King Edward. This is to unite the houses as the House of Tudor, published on AV Club.

Elizabeth Woodville still has the hopes to put his youngest son Prince Richard on the throne but is lost when they were summoned, as she hid the boy up in the attic to prevent Tudor soldiers from killing him. Meanwhile, Margaret Beaufort intends to be the power behind the throne, as she hoped for ever since "The White Queen" seasons. The twisted fate of Princess Elizabeth of York being married to the new King was well put together on "The White Princess" Season 1 Episode 1.

"The White Princess" Season 1 Episode 1 brings a little thrill to Royalist fans. The next episode will be airing on April 23 where the King tours the Kingdom to establish himself as the Regal of the throne.
