Gillian Anderson is truly a talented woman who continues to push boundaries in her career so it's no surprise that the "American Gods" star has been named Best Actress at the Webby Awards. The announcement was made shortly after it was confirmed that Anderson will reprise her role as Dana Scully in "The X-Files" Season 11, which is expected to air early next year. Does this mean Anderson has finally changed her mind about not wanting to return to the Fox series?

Gillian Anderson appears to be in for a very busy year. The star of "The Fall" will return as Dana Scully in the recently announced "The X-Files" Season 11, which will have 10 episodes (last year's revival only had 6). Not surprisingly, the confirmation was met with much excitement since people want to find out what happened to Scully following the shocking finale of the mini-series. But before all the truth is revealed, Anderson will first be honored as Best Actress in the upcoming Webby Awards.

The 21st Annual Webby Awards will honor Gillian Anderson as Best Actress and it looks like the "Amerian Gods" star has fine company. Veteran actor Steve Buscemi has been named Best Actor while Solange has been chosen as Artist of the Year. Interestingly, the Webby Lifetime Achievement Award will be bestowed upon Internet Archive. Fans can view the presentation on May 16.

Fans are truly happy for Gillian Anderson being honored as Webby Best Actress and another thing that brings joy to people is her future return as Dana Scully in "The X-Files" Season 11. After all, Anderson had famously stated that the Fox show is finished (via Reuters). But is it possible that the star of "American Gods" was simply trolling everyone by suggesting that Mulder and Scully's story is done? It certainly looks like Anderson is happy to be onboard in the next installment of the series, which is set to premiere in late 2017 or early 2018.
