"Timeless" Season 1 has officially been cancelled on NBC. The announcement came months after the series aired its season finale in February, reports Carter Matt.

While "Timeless" Season 1 has been struggling in ratings, it is a known fact that the show also holds a lot of potential in terms of its storyline. Many fans commented that the series has one of the most compelling storylines on TV and the show's time slot did not give it justice.

As such, many fans are expressing their hopes that "Timeless" Season 2 will get picked up by another network after its cancellation on NBC. The publication notes that Syfy or Hulu may serve as a new home for the series given their connections to NBC.

However, viewers of the series who wish to see "Timeless" Season 2 on air should raise their concerns and let their voices be heard. Many fans have successfully revived cancelled shows in the form of online petitions and posts to cable networks.

In an earlier interview with Deadline, series creators Eric Kripke and Shawn Ryan explained that "Timeless" Season 1 had a compelling storyline because it focused on the characters. Shawn shared that the story of the show worked because they try to focus on emotions rather than events.
