'The Winds of Winter' To Come Out After 'Game of Thrones' Season 8 Finale?

After years of waiting, it looks like fans will have to be patient once again as "The Winds of Winter" is reportedly delayed with its release date. George R.R. Martin has been busy with other projects such as a film studio in his home in Santa Fe, New Mexico. He has been teasing the release timeline of the highly anticipated novel and fans are disappointed with these recent reports. Additionally, it is said that there will be "Game of Thrones" spin-offs and GRRM is involved with this project.

Celebeat reports that "The Winds of Winter" author will help the four writers - Max Borenstein, Jane Goldman, Brian Helgeland and Carly Wray that HBO has commissioned to work for the "Game of Thrones" spin-offs. Because of this, fans are seriously concerned if the infamous author will be able to finish the book before the year ends. Earlier reports say that GRRM is only finishing a charity work and will mainly focus on finishing the book. However, with the new reports claiming that he is helping the spin-off writers, fans doubt if he can release the book this year.

"The Winds of Winter" author has just launched his StageCoach Foundation in Santa Fe, New Mexico in March to help young film enthusiasts develop their skills and talents. Albuquerque Journal reports that the Santa Fe mayor is apparently glad with GRRM's efforts as this will help boost the town's economy. While this is a fact, many fans that have been patiently waiting for the book's release are disappointed with the huge possibilities that the book won't be out this year.

Earlier reports also say that "The Winds of Winter" will be out in June, which is at least a month before "Game of Thrones" season 7 premieres in July 16. However, with all those projects that GRRM has been involved, seeing the book in the wild this year would be next to impossible. It can be recalled when the author announced in his blog earlier this year that he might release the book year but says that he also thought the same thing last year.
