Sui Ishida's dark fantasy manga-turned-anime series "Tokyo Ghoul" started airing between July and September 2014. Season 2 with 12 episodes aired between January and March 2015. Since then, fans have been eagerly waiting for season 3 of the popular anime series but there have been no words from the showrunner. Recent reports claim that the reason for its delay is the anime's live-action film, which is due in July.

Earlier reports from Celebeat states that "Tokyo Ghoul" season 2 did not get as much as high ratings compared to season 1 because of its considerable departure from its manga origin. Because it has been two years since the anime adaptation last aired in the small screens, fans are becoming more convinced that there might never be another season. It can be recalled when fans rejoiced over Viz Media executive Kevin Hamric's statement that there will be another season to premiere this year. However, it turned out that he was only misquoted and was actually referring to "My Hero Academia."

It is said that until "Tokyo Ghoul" live-action film premieres, the future of the third season of the anime adaptation is still uncertain. According to Comic Book, its second season was criticized for its character development, liberal timeline tweaking as well as its pacing. It is said that this is one of the reasons why its distributor is still unsure if they should start the production for season 3.

Meanwhile, Tokyo's The Guest Cafe and Diner in Ikebukuro neighborhood celebrate the anime franchise by turning its diner to "Tokyo Ghoul" Café. Arts from the anime series will be displayed in the café as well as the costumes from the live-action film. Most importantly, a special lineup of food and drinks will also be available including Ken Kaneki's One-Eyed Curry that costs $11.59 USD.

The Guest Café & Diner's "Tokyo Ghoul" Café will be available to customers between May 27 and June 28. It is located in Ikebukuro Parco main building 7th floor Tokyo, Japan. Stay tuned to Celebeat for more entertainment updates.
