Although it has been reported and confirmed multiple times that "Limitless" has already reached its limit, fans just can't seem to accept the unfortunate fate of the CBS show. In fact, it seems that the executive producer himself was blindsided by the cancellation as he already shared a concept for "Limitless" season 2.

Craig Sweeny has previously revealed that "Limitless" Season 2 will still have NZT in the storyline. However, the "Limitless" executive producer noted that the sequel will not just focus on Brian Finch (Jake McDorman) like the first season, as reported by Cinemablend. "We do find a way for it to be Brian taking the NZT working with Rebecca (Jennifer Carpenter) and Boyle (Hill Harper)," he shared at the time blissfully unaware that the show will be dropped.

Fans were obviously upset when the streaming of "Limitless" has been cut short. Despite the demands for "Limitless" season 2, the comedy-drama television series was not given the chance like the other renewed shows like "Supergirl."

Supporters of the show have been desperate to bring "Limitless" back. One fan even went on to start a "Limitless" season 2 online petition which garnered a lot of support from viewers who are still hopeful for the possibility of a sequel.

CBS shared that they were shopping "Limitless" season 2 to Netflix and Amazon, but unfortunately, the outlets did not seem to agree with the show's concept. It was previously reported that the mysterious drug on the show, NZT, is just too controversial that the outlets opted to pass on streaming "Limitless" season 2 to their services.

When CBS finally revealed its fall schedule at the time, "Limitless" Season 2 was nowhere to be found, giving fans the heads up to not expect a sequel from the show. However, "Supergirl" was renewed at CBS sister company, The CW, so many "Limitless" fans were hoping that the show will have that same chance as well. But, no.
