Eminem, whose real name is Marshall Bruce Mathers III, is expected to be releasing a new album soon. The 44-year-old rapper confirmed that he is working on a new record years after his most recent one. When is the release date and will he collaborate with Ed Sheeran?

In 2016, Eminem confirmed that he is currently working on a new album after his most recent one titled "The Marshall Mathers LP 2" was released in 2013. The "Rap God" rapper delivered the news through his Twitter account along with the release of a new single, "Campaign Speech."

August is believed to be the release of Eminem's new album given the rapper's slated activities during that month. However, there have been reports that the release may be delayed due to a recent case filed against New Zealand's political party over the use of his song, "Lose Yourself."

As Billboard reports, publishers of the song are asking for cash settlement and an acknowledgment that the National Party breached the song's copyright. The case will be reviewed over the next three months before the judge reaches a decision.

This case is believed to be taking up some of Eminem's time and focus away from his new album. However, the rapper has never announced the actual date of his album's release, so there is no reason to believe there is a delay in the release.

Eminem is also rumored to be collaborating with Ed Sheeran, after the "Shape of You" singer told Desert Island Discs that Eminem's songs helped him while he was growing up, reports HotNewHipHop. According to the "Thinking Out Loud" crooner, the songs from Eminem's latest album helped him overcome his speech impediment and the songs were on his playlist when he was nine.

While it may be interesting to see both Eminem and Sheeran work together, these two have not yet officially confirmed any collaborations in the future. Therefore, fans should sit back and wait till Eminem officially announces details of his new album.
