"Star Wars 8" cast news reveals that there are talks that Hayden Christensen may return to the popular franchise. In an earlier interview with etalkCTV, the actor admitted that he is open to playing a role in the upcoming sequels of the franchise, including "The Last Jedi," reports Melty. "If they ever game me the call I'd sign up in a heartbeat," he said.

Christensen played the role of Anakin Skywalker in "Revenge of the Sith." It is entirely possible to see Anakin back on "Star Wars 8: The Last Jedi," as the latest sequel, "The Force Awakens," has also heard the voice of Ewan McGregor.

Christensen's Anakin may return to "Star Wars 8" as a flashback or he may play the role of his son, Luke Skywalker, given that the actor has already grown to an adult. There are rumors that Luke will be in "The Last Jedi" and as Express notes, there is a popular theory that Luke is the father of Rey.

It is believed that "Star Wars 8" will explore more of Rey's background, which may pave the way for the return of some of the characters from the previous installments. Other reports also claim that "The Last Jedi" may also feature a showdown between Luke and Snoke while Rey will be going on a battle with Kylo Ren.
