Released to critical acclaim, "Supergirl" has received positive review from fans and critics, with its family-friendly comic-book adaptation that drops cynicism for compassion being praised the most. The show's characters were also praised with critics saying that their stability in delivering action, strength and relatability were firm and unwavering. The season 2 finale ended with somewhat a cliffhanger with fans wondering if Mon-El (Chris Wood) is already leaving the show. There were reports saying that it's not impossible given the circumstances that occurred when Kara (Melissa Benoist) was left with no choice.

"Supergirl" season 2 finale showcased Lena (Katie McGrath), Winn (Jeremy Jordan) and Lilian (Brenda Strong) with the device that they created that can stuff the atmosphere with lead, which is deadly to the Daxamites. This means that they will be forced to vacate the Earth and Kara didn't have a choice but to activate the device to eliminate the Daxamites. It can be recalled that the heroine had defeated Rhea (Teri Hatcher).

However, after realizing that the Daxamites won't stop attacking them in "Supergirl" season 2 finale, Kara decided to activate the device, which means that Mon-El was also compelled to depart the Earth. The heroine apparently sent the Daxam prince off in a pod, leaving fans to wonder whether Chris Wood is finally making an exit from the show. Apparently, fans are heartbroken with the idea that he is leaving the woman he loves behind.

As CarterMatt points out, Mon-El being forced to leave the planet during "Supergirl" season 2 finale was something that he and Kara were like "Romeo & Juliet" who are doing their best to be with each other. However, it's obvious that staying on Earth is impossible as it can kill him if he did. According to Entertainment Weekly, if he would be coming back to the show, fans know that it wouldn't be as easy as a piece of cake.

"Supergirl" returns on The CW this fall. Celebeat will keep everyone posted with more updates. Stay tuned.
