The world was recently in shock when Zack Snyder announced that he would be stepping down as director of "Justice League" and will be replaced by Joss Whedon. Nevertheless, it was welcome news for fans who are hoping that the "Avengers: Age of Ultron" helmer will ensure that the DC Extended Universe flick is not too dark. Could Whedon make the highly anticipated movie less somber by injecting more humor and Easter eggs?

People were shocked when Zack Snyder decided he would no longer work on "Justice League" following the death of his 20-year-old daughter. However, the "300" director chose a truly excellent replacement in Joss Whedon. The choice is not a strange one, as it has been revealed that Whedon has already worked on the DCEU flick with Snyder, as per io9. According to producer Charles Roven, the "Avengers: Age of Ultron" helmer had reportedly been involved with the film's post production for some time (via Variety). Is it possible that Whedon will take the movie in a different direction, with more humor and Easter eggs, now that he is in charge?

It might be too late for Joss Whedon to make any major changes in "Justice League". After all, the DCEU flick is already in post production and will only need a few tweaks to complete. Zack Snyder has undoubtedly already made the film in a particular way and Whedon is most likely to follow his vision. Nevertheless, some believe that the film will show a touch of Whedon with more humor in the dialogue, which could feature numerous little Easter eggs.

"Justice League" is not the only DCEU flick that Joss Whedon will direct. The "Avengers: Age of Ultron" filmmaker has also been confirmed to work on the planned "Batgirl" movie, which will focus on Batman's red-haired protege Barbara Gordon. "Justice League" will premiere on November 17.
