George R.R. Martin's "The Winds of Winter" has been delayed for years and fans rejoiced over the infamous author's earlier announcement in his blog that he believes the book should be out before the year ends. However, another report claims that the release date of the highly-anticipated novel is delayed yet again and won't be out in the wild until next year. In the past months, there were reports claiming that "American Gods" author Neil Gaiman is co-writing with GRRM to expedite its release. Recently, when HBO announced that there will be "Game of Thrones" spin-offs, GRRM is reportedly helping the writers out, leaving fans to wonder if the book will ever be released this year.

CeleBeat reports "The Winds of Winter" author is helping the four "Game of Thrones" spin-offs writers that HBO has commissioned to work for the said project. Thus, many fans are disappointed as they are certain that the novel's release might be pushed back once again. It can be recalled that a source close to GRRM revealed that the author is just wrapping up a charity work and he will then focus on the book.

However, with the recent report that "The Winds of Winter" infamous author has another project on his plate, the release of the novel would be impossible to happen this year. In his Live Journal, GRRM said that he is well-aware that everyone is disappointed about the book's delayed release but he is more disappointed than anyone else. He also said that there are still a lot of chapters to write.

"For months now I have wanted nothing so much as to be able to say, "I have completed and delivered THE WINDS OF WINTER" on or before the last day of 2015," he wrote. "But the book's not done." GRRM though, said that he is doing his best to release the book this year.

However, there were reports that "The Winds of Winter" will likely come out after "Game of Thrones" season 8. Nonetheless, fans are still hoping that GRRM would surprise them this year. CeleBeat will provide more updates soon. Stay tuned!
