Netflix recently announced that "Sense8" Season 2 is cancelled amidst online petitions among the show's fans who are hoping to see the show live on for a third season. Per The Hollywood Reporter, Netflix VP Cindy Holland thanked fans in a statement for their love and support for the show.

She said that "Sense8" Season 2 lived up to their expectations of it being a "global show with an equally diverse and international cast and crew." While Holland did not provide any reasons for the cancellation of the series, the publication reports on an earlier statement from the streaming service's founder and CEO Reed Hastings that they are taking more risk in order to have a "higher cancel rate."

While many fans were truly disappointed to hear the news on the "Sense8" Season 2 cancellation, several were hopeful that another network will pick up the show. However, Carter Matt notes that the show costs a lot to produce, which may partly be the reason behind Netflix's decision to end the show with season two.

As most fans know, "Sense8" is filmed in various parts of the world, so it is pretty understandable if Netflix took this into consideration while thinking of the show's future. Of course, it is a known fact that the sci-fi drama created by the Wachowski sisters and Michael J. Straczynski has a lot of love and support from fans, which may draw some attention from other networks.
