'One Life To Live' To Remain On Indefinite Hiatus
One Life To Live will remain on indefinite hiatus according to the Los Angeles Times.
Prospect Park said that they would focus on producing new shoes of All My Children. Writers will provide content for the online soap opera's second season. However, One Life To Live will go dark as the production company is in the middle of a lawsuit with ABC.
In April, the company sued ABC for $25 million and alleged that Walt Disney owned network has engaged in sabotage over their efforts to bring the soap operas onto the internet. Some of the chief complaints was that ABC poached three actors, Roger Howarth, Kristen Alderson and Michael Easton. Furthermore, their characters were put into circumstances that impacted the online soap opera which returned from cancelation on April 29. Prospect Park argued that their storylines were hurt when the characters of Cole and Hope were killed off and John cheated on his fiancée, Natalie.
Jeff Kwatinetz noted that it had been a difficult undertaking between him to have brought the soap operas back to life after they were cancelled in 2011 by ABC.
"Agnes told me this job wasn't for sissies," he said. "If I didn't want to make any mistakes, I would sit back and let other people go figure it out and then just copy them. But then we wouldn't be helping to shape the future of television."
