“I was just angry and frustrated and kept thinking, ‘Why now?’” Jack Osbourne, son of Sharon and Ozzy Osbourne revealed People Magazine.

Jack, who recently welcomed his first child Pearl Clementine into the world with fiancé Lisa Stelly, sat down with the magazine after being diagnosed with multiple sclerosis last month. According to the UK Mirror, the 26-year-old learned that he had the autoimmune disease after severe vision loss in his right eye.

Multiple sclerosis (MS) is a disease that attacks the central nervous system. The brain, spinal cord and nerve fibers to the eyes (like Jack’s 60% vision loss in his right eye) are all affected by MS. According to Gilenya.com, MS happens when “a person’s immune system attacks and destroys the body’s healthy tissue.”

“While I was waiting for the final results, I got really, really angry,” Jack Osbourne told Hello! Magazine. “Then I got really sad for about two days, and after that I realized, being angry and upset is not going to do anything at this point – if anything it’s only going to make it worse. ‘Adapt and overcome’ is my new motto.”

Jack isn't alone with this autoimmune disease. Gilenya.com reports that approximately 400,000 people in the U.S. have MS. While the severity of Jack’s diagnosis is currently unknown, MS can cause muscle control and strength problems, along with vision, balance, feeling and thinking trouble.

According to the UK Mirror, Jack, with the support of his fiancé, will be treating his MS with daily drug treatments, holistic therapies and “lifestyle changes.”
